Event Description

Seminar title"We have Reached the Post-Genome Era: How we got here, and the Implications for Equine Genetics and Genomics Research"

Seminar Description: We can generate very accurate, Telomere-to-Telomere length phased haploid assemblies with commodity sequencing and computing resources.  Single reference genomes have given way to pangenomes for species, and we have new challenges with respect to interpreting an individual’s genome.  I will describe work in my lab that is being done to advance the cause of equine research in this new domain, and how this work will benefit us.

Presented by: Dr. Ted Kalbfleisch
