In this seminar I will detail the Kentucky Horse Racing Necropsy Program, to include the process, the criteria for inclusion, the causes of death in Kentucky Thoroughbred racehorses, describe the risk factors for catastrophic musculoskeletal injury, and provide future directions for the Kentucky program and for the US horseracing industry in general.
