Event Description

Seminar description: Rotavirus group A (RVA) is a leading cause of global diarrheal deaths in children under the age of five. Despite significant progress made in understanding the structural basis of glycan receptor recognition by VP8* subunits of three major human P genotypes (P[4]/P[6]/P[8]), little is known about the function of VP8* of zoonotic bat P[10] and equine P[12] rotaviruses as well as how these animal viruses utilize human glycans to achieve productive entry.
